6. Lucio Clara, shared information about his work as co-ordinator of the Local Commission for Civil Security of El Tular, a national development which Balsamo is helping to inaugurate in various communities in the Municipality, to equip themselves to respond to disasters.

The ambassador declared himself very impressed by the support Wellsprings had brought to the community, asked about their plans for the future and tendered his good wishes for their realisation.

Among future projects we mentioned extending our education project by working for the school to be equipped to offer education to baccalaureate level, in order to extend the opportunities for the young people, and especially the girls, to extend their studies by obviating the need to travel to San Lucas, which can be dangerous.

Another project mentioned was the acquisition of a piece of land to build a basic grain store, in order to be able to sell our grain when the market is favourable, and get a better price for it.

After the meeting we had a visit round the community, including the school where we had a short meeting with the head teacher and talked about the baccalaureate question.

We ended with a few moments for photos and farewells during which our guests expressed a wish to get to know more about Wellsprings and to keep in touch. Ojala!
